Family Bonding Ideas this Easter at Home | Happy Daysary

The government advised residents of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Laguna, also known as the NCR Plus Bubble under the Enhanced Community Quarantine, until April 4, to avoid going out and stay at home unless they needed to buy some essential goods and services. Following the rules, we will celebrate Holy Week in the safety of our own homes.

Spending Easter Sunday at home can be difficult, especially for parents with younger children. Children enjoy engaging in enjoyable activities and going outside to play. With the safety protocols in place to prevent the spread of the pandemic, children must remain at home at all times. Some children may have grown accustomed to being at home 24 hours a day and developed alternative means of keeping themselves entertained and occupied. On special occasions such as Easter Sunday, young children are eager to participate in fun and enjoyable activities.

Easter Sunday could have been a much-anticipated annual event because it involves dressing up in cute costumes, eating sweets and delicious treats, and the ever-popular egg hunt.

Easter Sunday will still occur, so prepare your home for an Easter celebration by painting your walls a brighter, more cheerful color and decorating with strategically placed bunnies and eggs!

Here are some enjoyable ways to make Easter at home a happy daysary!

Arts and crafts for Easter decoration.

You can organize a coloring activity with your children by printing out some images or pictures you can download from the internet. You can print images of Easter-related items such as eggs, bunnies, tulips, chicks, and candies. You can even be creative and let them trace the dots first to discover the picture before coloring it. The completed artworks will be used to decorate for the Easter Sunday celebration.

Another activity is to make bunny ears for each family member to use as a party hat at home. Bunny ears can set the tone for everyone that something special will be done on Easter Sunday.

You can also do a mini-contest like having a "Best Egg Face Challenge". All family members must enter an egg artwork with his/her face on it. This can be a fun way to have a family egg picture together.

Easter Egg Hunt Indoors

Worry no longer if the kids cannot participate in a scavenger hunt because doing it at home is always an option. Every Easter Sunday, egg hunting is a must-do activity. It appears that the celebration will be incomplete without the much-anticipated challenge. If children and adults previously enjoyed doing this in a public place or with other children at an event, let us make it a memorable bonding experience at home. To ensure your children's safety, hide the eggs in easily accessible locations. Add some creative and exciting vibes to it, use colorful plastic eggs and place questions inside, with those who answer receiving egg-shaped candies. Alternatively, you could spice it up with a treasure hunt in which a print-out map will guide the kids to find hidden eggs with treats inside for a fun surprise!

Play Chubby Bunny.

Chubby Bunny never gets old in making everyone laugh. Players put an increasing number of marshmallows in their mouths while attempting to say "Chubby Bunny" clearly and audibly. The person who can say the phrase with the most marshmallows in his or her mouth wins. This can hilariously be funnier since every member of the family is wearing bunny ears.

Have a family cookfest.

Make the entire family participate in the preparation of the food that will be served during the Easter celebration. Create an Easter concept menu or bake some adorable egg-shaped cookies. The family bond with a cooking festival is always a bright idea to make everyone excited for the event.

We can do various activities with our children at home without putting their health and safety at risk. With all of these exciting activities at home, the best thing we can do this Easter Sunday with our families and children is to pray for guidance and a better world and remember that His resurrection is the reason for the Easter Sunday celebration.
