The 18th Rose

FLASHBACK FRIDAY

January 3, 2014
12:30nn
Lunch Break.

A dream come true 18th birthday happened to me, way back April 11,2010 at our residence.

I planned mine to be a BLACK and PINK program and dinner party. Whereas, every attendee should wear black or pink. So I wore a VIOLET dress. Hehe!

Here is a copy of my jejemon inspired invitation. Sorry for the language preference. (You can't blame me. 2010 is like a jejemon language year for teenagers like me. HAHA!)

Preparation for my debut is an amazing experience. Hands on from invitation, table cloth, balloon decorations, centerpiece in tables, throwback video, wish book, giveaways to script and program and even joined in cooking.

I had most of my debut stuffs personalized and hand crafted by me, with of course a big help from Ralph. And that fact was a secret spilled. My family did not know that "I'm going out. I'll be doing my wish book with a friend" permission to my parents way back is pertaining to Ralph, "a friend". Haha! And here is the output:
Personalized guest list and wish book for Ness' 18th birthday made together with Ralph.
Before the program starts, dinner was served while my two cute niece roam around for my wish book to be filled up by the guests.

For the program proper, it started with a prayer led by my mother. Followed by a throwback video of my past 17 years. Hit the link below to see my throwback video during my debut.

Next is trivia/facts/secrets of the debutante revealed by her two close friends that served as the bubbly Masters of Ceremony, Aera Sta. Ana and Marjen Antazo.

Then, 18 TRADITIONAL DANCE, where my cutie patootie little cousins, macho titos, and my beloved brothers and father had a sweet dance with me.

Next, is the 18 WISHES from my first ever friends- cousins and aunties. I had the best wishes for my love life from my cousins and more of love lectures from my titas. When they are having their speeches I was so like "Is it 18 SERMONS or something?" Haha! Kidding aside, some of them almost made me cry, reminiscing the past while giving me some piece of advice for the future and some made me laugh so hard as they share my childhood memories.

There were also intermission numbers from Jonathan Alegre, a serenade, dance number from my niece, followed by Jobs Luberisco and Arcgel Hinggo's song number.

Then, 18 TREASURES, where I received gifts from my friends from elementary, high school, and college as well as my co-officers in organizations. Cool gifts, as in they really know what I wanted for my birthday and their presence alone was so overwhelming.

And of course, the most awaited part 18 ROSES. You will be given a rose by a guy, so you can invite your high school crush, best dude, pare, piglet friend, badminton buddy, close neighbor, former suitor, highschool tropa, highschool classmate, brothers, close teacher, organization friends and co- officers, guy friend of your brother, best friends and of course THE BOYFRIEND. Hehe!

Well, in our family, it is usually the confirmation if the debutante has her "special someone", if none, the father will be the 18th Rose. And in my case, a heart popping, hand freezing, and smile blasting moment for me and Ralph Rufino for he is my 18th ROSE.

They sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Cake was blown. And then, I had my TEAR DROPPING THANKS to all who made the party possible and for the time and effort my friends and family exerted.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY per group/table comes after. And "re-dinner". Hehe!

When the party is done. Yehey! OPENING OF GIFTS. (No alcoholic drinks in my party, just a little videoke sing along and so sleeping time comes next. And I still felt I was dreaming.)
